20.4.18 - my ride or die make up essentials

DISCLAIMER

I feel I have to say this before I go any further with this post that I AM INDEED NO PRO MAKE UP ARTIST. There are often days that I decide to give my skin a break and go bare faced. Most of the time, I prefer to opt for the minimal, low maintenance look. I really don't have the patience for certain make up products or techniques and I'd much rather focus on my thick curly unruly hair first.

There are a few make up items that I feel are a must have in my make up bag. Over time, I have began to try new products but there are also certain products that I feel quite loyal to, as I love the looks they create. Many items in my collection have been discovered from reading other bloggers posts, watching YouTube videos or by recommendation from friends and family. I thought that this would be a great idea for a blog post to talk about those ride or die beauty products that I feel are essential to me in my day to day life.

Now that's been said, lets crack on....

PRIMER (MOISTURISER)
Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser SPF 15 - Boots £6.99
The one in the picture wasn't on the Boots website but this one above is very similar ^^

As a person who doesn't always wear a full face of make up, I don't tend to use a primer. I feel that it is something that I can do without in my day to day make up look. My skincare routine is fairly basic and consists of cleansing, toning and moisturising after a good wash in the shower with a decent face wash. Moisturiser I find acts as a primer so that's why I don't really feel the need for it unless I wear a full face of make up. Simple is a brand that I like to opt for as it is suitable for sensitive skin. I always try to go for products that are fragrance free with mostly natural ingredients. I want to ensure my skin is not going to break out or become dry. I have used this for a few years now and it is probably my favourite budget moisturiser. It doesn't feel heavy or make my skin feel sticky when applied and also helps keep my make up long lasting.

FOUNDATION
Charlotte Tillbury Magic Foundation in Shade 2 - Charlotte Tillbury £32

I have to say, I've never been the biggest fan of putting on foundation every day. First off, I am a pale skinned gal that struggles finding the perfect shade and secondly, I don't have the patience when it comes to applying make up, especially on those early mornings. A lot of high street foundations are too dark for me and I'm always worried I've missed a bit when blending. I do prefer to go for the minimal every day look as it's lower maintenance but I do like to make the effort occasionally. I don't know how people have the patience topping up make up throughout the day - kudos to you all! One foundation I've always heard good things about was the Charlotte Tillbury Magic Foundation. When I do wear foundation, I like to have full coverage as having fair skin and dark circles, I like to ensure those veiny eye bags are covered up. Luckily, a woman on the Brent Cross Fenwick concession stand gave me a few testers to try before I purchased one. My shade is Fair 2 and it blends into the skin really well. It perfectly covers up my imperfections whilst also having a smooth matte base without the cakey finish.

CONCEALER
Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer - Boots £3.99

Most people, especially the avid beauty blogger readers, have probably heard about this concealer. In 2017 it was the most popular make up product with ten sold every 60 seconds (Womens Health Mag). At only £3.99 a shot, it is an absolute bargain. This product really does wonders for my tired eye bags as it is fairly high coverage. Most of the time, I will use just the product alone with a moisturiser and set with powder. Some people think this product can be heavy and cakey, but less is more so you don't have to mad with it. It's always out of stock in my local drugstores so I tend to buy three at a time, especially if there's a 3 for 2 deal on. This way, I'm stocked up for the next six months or so. If this product ever changed or became extinct, I would be forever heartbroken. It is known to be the dupe to the NARS Radient Creamy Concealer which is a product I've been meaning to try for a while.

POWDER
NYX HD Finishing Powder - NYX £9

I've gone through a few translucent powders over the years from Bareminerals, Boots No7, Rimmel, Models Own and more. My current powder is the NYX HD Finishing Powder which I'm really liking at the moment. NYX is a great brand for me as they are cruelty free. This is always nice to hear! Most make up and toiletries that I tend to purchase are free of animal testing, as I don't believe an animal should have to suffer for the sake of a red lipstick. Natural ingredients should be used more within make up and everyday items instead of harsh synthetic ingredients or chemicals that are possibly dangerous to us. I find NYX to be an affordable high street make up range, allowing me to feel super sassy without breaking the bank.

EYE LINER
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - Debenhams £16

In 2016, I went to Barcelona with my friend Elisha and it was here that I visited a Sephora for the first time. It was a big beauty haven where I spent a good hour and a half looking around, swatching things. It was probably about €150 that I spent in total. I saved up for it though, as I knew I was going to going to a Sephora during my stay. I was hearing a lot about Kat Von D's make up range by a number of bloggers. I believe it was during a Helen Anderson video that I discovered the Tattoo Liner. I picked one up for myself as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. At the time, the limited edition versions were still around so I managed to grab one. Since then, I have been loyal to this eyeliner as the results are fantastic. The nib is precise and it really does not budge.

MASCARA
Clinique High Impact Mascara - Clinique £19

One thing I like to ensure about my mascara is that the wand is a classic full brush spoolie and not a silicone newer style spoolie. I find I get on better with the traditional mascara wands as it gives a fuller result. My lovely Nan works at my local Clinique make up counter so she is always recommending me products. I believe I received this mascara for my birthday last year but I only began using it since Christmas. I love the full yet natural results I get from this mascara. One thing I like about Clinique as a brand is that their products are 100% fragrance free, so no breakouts from synthetic fragrances.

BROW CRAYON
Sleek Eyebrow Stylist in Light - Sleek £6.49

It's not all the time that I will fill in my eyebrows, as you have read, I live that low maintenance make up life. If I'm going out somewhere, then I will fill the sisters in a little. I have used this brow product for about three years now. The crayon is great as it allows me to add small strokes of colour without looking too heavy. The spoolie at the other end is great as it allows me to brush out any excess and also helps to define the natural shape of my brows. A perfect 2 in 1 item that makes my brows look naturally fuller without looking like I have a pair of slugs on my head.

BROW GEL
Barry M Take A Brow - Barry M £4.99

When doing my eyebrows, I'm very conscious about the possibility of the sisters not behaving. I like to tame them with a clear brow gel after I use my brow crayon. Barry M is also another cruelty free brand. Therefore, I'm happy to purchase their items and know that what I'm using will be safe. I didn't know this until I went to grab the link for this post, but this product is also Vegan! It's the perfect size spoolie as I've used other eyebrow gels in the past and not got on with them. It allows me to not put too much product on, as I have found this out with other clear brow gels that have slightly bigger spoolies.

So, there you have it! I'm not the biggest make up wearer, but these are the items that help me feel a little more alive. I don't really bother contouring much or wearing lots of eye shadow. These are things that I really need to have the patience and time for.

Are there any products that you couldn't change or live with out?

Back soon for some more blog posts. Need to keep up with blog writing as it's something I really enjoy. Working full time makes it hard to fit it all in but I'll squidge a few in here or there.

07.03.18 - five faves of february

I blink my eyes and all of a sudden it's March! Time flies when you're getting old 😂

Here are a few of my favourites from the last month...

1. Heart of Enlightened Expectation Bubble Bar from LUSH 🛀
LUSH £4.50 (LEAVING SOON - Be quick if you want one!)

I made myself a promise that I wouldn't go mad and buy everything from this years Valentines collection at LUSH as I still have a fair bit left over of last years Christmas collection. There's nothing more irritating when I go through my LUSH stash bucket and discover that there are some old products in there that I completely forgot about. These items then need chucking as they have passed their use by date. It's especially sad to throw away an out of date face mask. I recently popped into the Preston LUSH store and saw that they had some products still available from their Valentines range. I always make sure I make a visit to this store when I stay in Preston for a few days to see the boyf. The first product I picked up was this beautiful smelling bubble bar. I recognised the Rose Absolute when I gave it a sniff. Anything containing this ingredient from LUSH is a winner in my books. The meringue looking bath melt on top of this bubble bar looked like a nice little addition also. The smell is so amazing that before using this product, I had been using it in my underwear drawer to make my pants smell all lovely. This bubble bar produced just the right amount of gorgeous smelling bubbles and left my skin feeling super soft due to the bath melt addition. I have considered doing some LUSH product reviews on this blog in the future so keep those eyes peeled all you LUSH fans out there!

2. Vans Classic Black Slip-Ons (Unisex) 👟

For a while, I have preferred to opt for a slip-on pump/trainer simply because I can be quite the lazy one when it comes to putting on and taking off my shoes. The amount of shoes that I have ruined or stretched from leaving the laces tied up when taking off is a bit silly. I should know better, especially as I worked in a shoe shop for almost five years - my bad! There's something about the look and feel of Vans trainers; I like the grungy skater vibe that they give. Compared to other brands, I feel that the insoles inside Vans are a lot comfier. The waffle outsole is iconic and I've always loved the thick white sidewall of their trainers. I bought myself a pair of black slip-ons so that they can go with every possible outfit.

3. My first ever 'Parmo' 🍗
Mostly found in takeouts in North East of England

It's a strange one to feature as a favourite, but last month, I finally found out what all the fuss was about. When visiting my boyfriend, Dom, he suggested we have a Parmo whilst I was up there so I could see what everyone was talking about. A 'Parmo' (or also known as Teeside Parmesan according to Wikipedia) is a chicken dish which is quite similar to the German dish, the Schnitzel. It's a breadcrumbed chicken breast that has been beaten flat and it's then covered in béchamel/parmesan sauce and topped with parmesan cheese. You can add toppings to it also such as meats, veg, sauces. Dom explained it well a few weeks ago. 'It's a bit like a chicken base pizza'. For my first Parmo, I went with the basic plain one to see if I'd enjoy it. I most certainly did! I tried a bit of Dom's as he went for all the meats topping and it was a nice combination of cheese, chicken, béchamel and meats. Next time I'm up in Preston, I'm giving the bolognese one a try.

4. Nespresso Inissia & Aeroccino 3 Coffee Machine in White ☕
Argos £119.99

As a trained barista at work, I have gradually become to actually enjoy the taste of coffee. Before I began working at my current job, I hated both the taste and smell of coffee. Now I can't get enough of it! So much so that I decided to get my own coffee machine for home. Of course, it's not the same as the machines we have at work. Even the ones we have at work are not proper barista style. Yes, the machines at work may have fancy milk steamers and the coffee tastes great, but they don't have a grinder like they do in fancy coffee places. The machine grinds the beans for you instead. It's good enough for me though! This machine that I purchased looks quite retro and nifty. Not too big either which means it fits perfectly in the kitchen at home. I loved this bundle as it came with the Aeroccino which makes both hot and cold frothy milk. I also got a pack of free coffee pods to use which was a bonus!

5. The Shape of Water 💚
Directed by Guillermo del Toro

Oscar season is the best season. Yeah, Summer is sometimes okay for film but during Oscar season, there are an abundance of amazing films that celebrate a wide range of creative people. From actors, directors, directors of photography, set designers, costume designers and many more. I am yet to tick off my checklist of all this years Oscar nominated films up for Best Picture. I think I've seen 5 out of 9 so far. This one has stuck out to me as the most beautiful film both visually and musically. The performances from all the actors were phenomenal but I especially loved Sally Hawkins. The fact she was playing a mute and still continued to carry so much emotion was insane. I did feel like shedding a little tear towards the end as it was just so lovely. A lot of customers at my work place thought it was weird so it is that Marmite type of movie; you either love it or hate it. I have to say, this kind of film isn't for everyone as it's a little arty farty. That's just how I like my films. With a bit of farty art!
A big congratulations to Guillermo del Toro for winning Best Picture at the Oscars for this film. Well deserved!

What have you been loving this February? Let me know in the comments! Would be interesting if there are anymore lovers of The Shape of Water as I only know a handful of people who saw it and really enjoyed it.

Speak soon! Ciao bella...

05.02.18 - A better late than never 2017 favourites

On the 3rd of January, I posted a status on my Facebook stating...

'2018: A year for no time wasting'

This applied to a number of things in life, but the main thing this applied to was that I needed to kick start this blogging action and get back in gear. I also want to begin working in a job that I feel I can utilise my creative skills more. Don't get me wrong, working in a cafe and entertainment building is fun at times but I want to do something a little bigger. Therefore, this blog is an outlet for me where my creative ideas and words can be showcased. I've been a little slow getting it started since January, but now is the time for me to get rolling again.

ENOUGH BLAB. Lets start with what this blog post is all about...

💕 2017 FAVOURITES 💕

Another year (and a bit) has passed and I would like to share 12 things that I really enjoyed throughout 2017. So without further ado...

1. FAVOURITE BEAUTY PRODUCT OF 2017
- 'YES, PLEASE!' EYESHADOW PALETTE FROM COLOURPOP 🌅 -

'Yes, Please!' Pressed Powder Shadow Palette - $16 ColourPop (about £12)

I was visiting Zoe London's blog late last year, when I discovered a blog post 'The Ultimate Cheap Autumn Palette'. It was here that I found this palette, which I immediately fell in love with. Luckily the website had free worldwide shipping on orders over £30, so I took full advantage of this offer and purchased this palette along with another. As they were shipped from America, there was a shipping tax which I had to pay at the post office (about £16) but it was totally worth it. For a while I had been eyeing up the Urban Decay Heat palette and this was like a cheaper alternative. I'd been seeing a lot of bloggers and YouTubers rocking the warm sunset eyeshadow look with yellows, oranges and reds too, so I wanted to find that palette that would allow me to create that look. For a cheap palette, the shades are beautiful and long lasting. My favourite shades are Butter Cake, Spoiled, Chauffer, Louie and Mischeif. This palette is also cruelty free which is a big selling point for me as it means no animals had to suffer!

2. FAVOURITE CLOTHING ITEM OF 2017
- RAINBOW SEQUIN BACKPACK FROM ASOS 🌈 -

ASOS Mini Festival Sequin Rainbow Backpack - £25 ASOS (Believe it is now out of stock!)

Whilst I was on the hunt for a backpack for Bestival, I came across this little fella. It's the perfect size for festivals and has a nostalgic 90's vibe. Inside, I could fit my Instax mini, a fold up pack a mac, purse and all the festival must haves such as tissues, wet wipes and hand sanitiser. I've been loving anything rainbow over the last year so this bag had my name written all over it (well, not literally). I'm going to take this little cutie with me to Download Festival this year so it will have it's second trip to a festival.

3. FAVOURITE HOMEWARE ITEM OF 2017
- PEG BOARD FROM URBAN OUTFITTERS 📝 -

Peg Board (Originally from Urban Outfitters £15) - Here's one from £12.99 Firebox

Back in 2016 when I was hunting for Christmas presents, I of course decided to treat myself and purchase this peg board which I believe was on sale from Urban Outfitters. I have used this a number of times this year to note down special dates such as gigs, cinema visits, trips and holidays. I love the retro cinematic feel to this peg board. It reminds me of how they would display the current showing films at my closest cinema back in the late 90's. My current peg board displays the quote, 'You get what you give' as I believe that this quote applies to lots of things in life. This time last year I used it to display the oscar nominated films I was going to see in the cinema. I have to admit that this year, there are not so many amazing films that I want to see, apart from 'Ladybird' which is out at the end of this month. Urban Outfitters no longer sell the original one that I purchased, but the link above takes you to Firebox who are selling this exact one.

4. FAVOURITE ALBUM OF 2017
- QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - VILLAINS 💿 -

Queens of The Stone Age - Villians CD £9.99 HMV

The excitement when I heard that one of my favourite bands were releasing a new album in 2017 was unreal. I wasn't sure what to think when I heard that Mark Ronson was the producer of this album, but he and the boys certainly delivered. I got to hear some of the songs from this album when I saw QOTSA live at the 02 Arena in November. This was a massive highlight for me during 2017 (you shall see this in my next favourite). My favourite tracks from the album are 'Fortress' and 'Head Like a Haunted House' which I did not hear at that gig. Hopefully, I'll get to hear those two songs when I see them again in June at Finsbury Park this year.

5. FAVOURITE GIG OF 2017
- METRONOMY @ 02 BRIXTON ACADEMY & QOTSA @ 02 ARENA 🎸 -

It was a hard decision between two gigs. This year, I managed to see a good handful of bands live including, Metallica at the 02, Justice at Brixton Academy, Enter Shikari at Slam Dunk and Little Dragon at Bestival. The two gigs I throughly enjoyed this year were Metronomy at 02 Academy Brixton in May and of course, Queens of The Stone Age at the 02 Arena in November.

Before last year, I had never seen Metronomy live; it only took 10 years to get round to it! The setlist comprised of classic Metronomy tracks and new songs from their latest album 'Summer '08'. The only thing was that I had no one to share my experience with, as I don't really know anyone else that loves them as much as I do. Other than that, I had an AMAZING time!

Queens of the Stone age were spectacular also. I've only ever seen them once before this show. This was at Download festival back in 2013 after they released their album 'Like Clockwork'. It was great to finally see them at their own gig and hear more than 45 minutes of their music. I'm still shocked that Dom, the boyfriend and I, managed to stay front row for the whole thing without getting separated by the crazy crowd. The picture above is fairly blurry as I was literally sardined in. In the picture, it doesn't appear like they are on the stage at the 02 as I was so close! The picture makes it seem like I went to a smaller venue. It was a pleasure to be so close to Josh Homme once again.

6. FAVOURITE FILM OF 2017
- LA LA LAND ✨💃 -

On the 8th of January was when I first watched this movie. Sad that I remember this date, I know! I loved the film so much that I saw it four times in the cinema. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are my favourite actors, so when I heard all about the film, I was super excited. I really enjoyed 'Whiplash' - a film also directed by Damien Chazelle, director of La La Land. Therefore, I had high hopes for the film. I probably had the music on repeat for a few months after its cinema release. I even saw it again in September at the Luna cinema at Hatfield House. Here is where I had my first outdoor cinema experience with my sister, Sophie!

7. FAVOURITE TV SHOW OF 2017
- STRANGER THINGS 📺 -

I had Stranger things in my watch list on Netflix for a while and it was only at the start of 2017 that I began to watch it. I love the fact that the series was set in the 70's. The styling and music really made the series for me. I probably could of watched the series within a week, but I didn't want it to finish so I longed it out. However, the second series was powered through in just five days. I loved the series so much that I even dressed up as Eleven on Halloween. Topshop and Topman also released a Stranger Things collection of clothing during Halloween and I definitely had to pick up a piece. I grabbed a red raglan top from the Topman collection. The fit of the top is a little bulky round the shoulders, but when you tuck it into a pair of jeans, you loose the bulkiness. Hoping that the new series comes out by the end of this year, as I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!

8. FAVOURITE GADGET OF 2017
- INSTAX MINI 8 📷 -

Instax Mini 9 (Instax Mini 8's are harder to get now because of the newer model) - £67.95 John Lewis

For a while, I had been eyeing up the Instax Mini to add to my camera collection. I already own the Instax Wide and a classic OneStep Polariod camera. I love the unpredictability of shooting on film and instant film. I love a happy accident in photography! Instant film is great because its so easily accessible. No need to print your image in a darkroom or edit it on the computer before it's printed. I love giving people a mini instax print out in their birthday or christmas card too. Another gadget I bought at the end of the year was the Instax Share printer. This means I can turn any image into a miniature instax print by using the app on my phone. I bought that so I can begin scrapbooking. I am a little gutted that if I had waited a few months after buying the instax mini 8, I could have got the instax mini 9, the newer model. It still creates the same pictures, so therefore I am still happy with my purchase.

9. FAVOURITE APP OF 2017
- POCKET CAMP 🦁 -

As a kid, I never really played Animal Crossing much. My sister owned it on Nintendo DS and I remember playing it once or twice, but never fully appreciated it enough. A work colleague told me to give the new app 'Pocket Camp' a go. She mentioned it was very addictive and she was not wrong! I haven't been playing it as much as I did when I first got it, due to waiting for furniture to build which is the only issue I have with this game. It's definitely made me want to get the new Animal Crossing on DS though! At Christmas, I treated myself to a Nintendo 3DS and managed to find 'Animal Crossing: Wild World' on eBay at a bargain price. 'Animal Crossing: New Leaf' has just came back in stock in Argos this week, so I may purchase that on payday!

10. FAVOURITE RESTAURANT OF 2017
- FLAT IRON 🍴 -

During Summer, I met up with one of my besties for a catch up and some good food. She mentioned a place called Flat Iron and I was more than than happy to give it a go as I had never been before. I had heard many good things about the place, so I was excited to give it a go. There are only a handful of Flat Iron's dotted around London but unfortunately they don't take reservations. The first restaurant had an hour wait, so we decided to head to the other closest Flat Iron. This one had a 30 minute wait but said they could call us when the table was ready. The food was amazing and totally worth the wait. It was really cheap and they only had two things on the menu (the Flat Iron steak or the Flat Iron burger). You could add sides like fries or greens and pick a sauce, but in total the cost for a meal and a drink was under £20. This is an absolute bargain for a steak! I have to say, the steak isn't MASSIVE but it didn't leave me feeling uncomfortably full. I was just the right amount of full and even managed to squeeze in a little bit of dessert too.

11. FAVOURITE PLACE VISITED OF 2017
- AMSTERDAM 🌷 -

2017 was the year that Dom and I finally had a holiday away with just the two of us. Only took us 7 years to finally go somewhere together! Amsterdam was such a lovely and clean city with plenty of things to see and do. The only thing I would say is that you need to make sure if you're visiting, that you take more than enough money as 'Dam can be expensive. Think London but a little pricier. Dom was adamant that €200 each would be enough for 5 nights (he is a student though so I can see why). I went safe and took €700 just incase we wanted to eat somewhere nice or visit a museum. I came home with about €110 which was nice! It was so easy to get around and the people of Holland were friendly too. I could actually see myself living there!

12. FAVOURITE MEMORY OF 2017
- HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR IN SOUTHEND 🌞 -

There was one week during Summer last year, when the weather was roasting. I took the initiative to make the most of that week. The idea was to spend a day off visiting a British seaside town with Dom. Southend on Sea was perfect, as I know the area very well due to my Nan living there. My mum lived there for a few months also! It was just under a 2 hour train journey there. When we arrived, we found a sea front cafe and had some classic fish and chips. We then went and explored along the seafront. I couldn't walk too far out into the sea as my flip flops kept getting stuck to the sea bed, so I let Dom go off and do his thing. I would have walked barefoot, but the sand was all gloopy and mud like. After that, we walked down the pier and by the time we had got back from our walk, it was 7pm. We decided to call it a day and get the train back home. The weather was lovely and it was nice to visit Southend again, as I hadn't been in a while. Hoping for a day like this in 2018!

So there you have it, my twelve favourites of 2017! Let me know what your favourites were and if you agree with any of my choices. Still hunting for that future fellow Metronomy gig buddy!

25.05.17 - you're a taurus and i'm aqaurius

Last Friday, I went to see a band that I've been wanting to see for almost nine years, Metronomy.

It was back in 2008 when I discovered these guys after learning a routine in GCSE dance to a song of theirs called 'The End of You Too'. If I had to describe their sound it would be a funky French sounding disco pop. On their wikipedia page, one of their described genres is 'wonky pop'. Other bands that are grouped into this genre include Hot Chip, Empire of the Sun and Lykke Li. These are all artists that I have frequently listened to in the past and still love.

The only downside to loving a band like Metronomy is that I don't have many friends that share my love of this band. I got my boyfriend into a few of their songs from the 'The English Riviera' album when we were on holiday once, but I still haven't found someone who loves them quite as much as I do. This is why I decided to go to the gig by myself. I've been to another gig by myself before and it wasn't actually that bad. Whenever I go to festivals, I always tend to have a little wonder around by myself if there's a particular act I want to see and no-one else fancies it. After all, I am a 24 year old so I'm no kid anymore!

I don't know why it took me so long to see this band but it was definitely worth the wait! When they announced that their new album 'Summer '08' was coming out last year, I was praying it would be just as good as their four previous albums. As always, they produced another masterpiece. My favourite song from the album has to 'Old Skool' which has a funky 70's disco feel to it with a cheeky bit of cowbell action.

The last gig that I saw at 02 Brixton Academy was for Korn back in 2014. I forgot how big the venue actually was. As I went on my ones, I opted for seating rather than standing so that I could have a comfortable seat and get a decent view without all the giants getting in my way. I managed to get a decent seat right at the front of the upper circle so I had a pretty nice view.

Support acts were Dutch band 'Klyne' and Mancunian lads 'Dutch Uncles'. I quite enjoyed Klyne and have actually downloaded their stuff since the gig. Their music is described as synthpop and features soulful vocals from singer Nick Klein. However, I'm not sure I quite liked the other support, Dutch Uncles so much. If I had to describe them as a band, it would be nerdy boyband pop with a hint of 80's. The singer Duncan Wallis had some almighty dad dancing disco moves though! Just wasn't my cup of tea if I'm honest!

The setlist was mostly full of songs from their most recent album 'Summer '08'. In fact, I think they played all but one song, 'Summer Jam'. My all time favourite song from the band is 'Radio Ladio' from the 2008 'Nights Out' album but unfortunately I didn't get to hear this one. Another favourite of mine 'Boy Racers' from the 2014 album 'Love Letters' didn't make the setlist but there's always a chance I'll be able to catch those gems live in the future!

:)

I'd just like to end this post by remembering those who were at Manchester Arena on Monday 22nd during the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert. I was in complete shock when I heard about the attack. A gig is the last place that anyone should experience terror of any level. These events are places for people to feel free and full of joy, not panic and pain. I'd like to to say that my thoughts are with all of those who were affected by this attack.

The one good thing to come from this, was the support and solidarity of the public services and people in Manchester who helped those in need. We must not let attacks like these rule our day to day life. My Dad always thinks that I should avoid going to places like London in case anything occurs, but that is not the way we should go on. We must show these cowards that we will stand together and not let the fear take over us.

17.05.17 - mid month may wishlist

1. MOTO Embroidered Jamie Jeans from Topshop £59
Jamie jeans to me are the perfect fit and just seem to last. I've been eyeing these up at my local store over the last month. The cross stitch embroidery is super cute! I'm loving anything floral right now.

I believe that this shade is not yet available to purchase in the UK but fingers crossed it hits our stores soon. If I had it my way, I'd have the whole collection of the liquid lipsticks. I've already got two and they really live up to its name of everlasting. I picked malice because it's a shade that I don't already have in my lip collection. I do like a red but this beauty has a hint of orange which is a perfect summer shade.

3. Floral Print Duvet Cover Set from H&M £39.99
There's nothing I love more than a fresh new duvet cover. As summer is soon approaching, I've been eyeing up tropical and palm tree printed sets. I love the colours in this duvet! Greens and pinks seem to be everywhere at the moment.

Whilst scrolling on Facebook, I came across an advert for Hunters new summer 2017 collection. This is how is discovered this sweet mini backpack. Being a rubberised leather, this means that the backpack is weatherproof and ideal for summer festivals. The light pink is my favourite colour but it does come in five other colours

I'm yet to own a piece of clothing from Lazy Oaf. I love the quirky aspect of the brand and also the slogan on this dress 'You used to be weird'. It's quite fun and I'm quite a big kid at heart, so I feel like this dress is made for me. Love monochrome too as it never really goes out of date.

6. PUMA Suede Platforms in Prism Pink from Office £74.99
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love a nice new pair of shoes, especially a comfy trainer. After the success of the Rihanna's Fenty creepers, Puma has released the suede platform. Usually I've always avoided anything pink but I seem to be loving all things pink right now.

7. Coke Can Silicone Case from Skinny Dip £16
Skinny Dip for me is the queen of phone accessories. I've had two phone cases from them in the past and like Lazy Oaf, I love the fun tongue in cheek nature of the products that they make.

15.05.17 - it's good to be back

So about two years or so, I decided to put blogging on the back burner for a while. The idea of routine for me was (and still sort of is) a little tricky to stick to. I kept doubting myself as a 'blogger' and therefore I hadn't got really far with it. A lot of it was because of overthinking things and comparing myself to other bloggers. It's quite a competitive industry to be involved in.

Recently I've been thinking, 'Why did I allow myself to stop doing something that I enjoyed for so long?'. Like I said, the routine thing is always something I'm not the best at, but it gave me a purpose. (Apologies for the cheese!)

I'm going to quit my blabbing now. This time I'm going for the keep things short and sweet approach. Just here to say that it is good to be back!

:)

(I'm happy here because I just ate a whole lot of tapas and sipped on some sangria. - if you get the chance to visit Sensi Bistro when in Barcelona, I highly recommend!)
